The Pomona Sundowner 30km or ‘beer run’ as some would call it is a point to point trail run from Stan Topper Park, Pomona to Noosa District Sports Complex.
This is the ‘black sheep’ of the Noosa Ultra-Trail events as it is an afternoon start from the Hinterland town of Pomona. For those with families or school sport in the morning, there’s now no excuse not to have a crack at this run !
Taking in the last 30km of the 80km Hinterland Traverse and 100km Ultra-Trail® courses, runners will head out of town for a kilometre or two before heading into Yurol State Forest.
A large portion of this run is under the canopy of trees along dirt roads, 4WD tracks and trails so it will offer some wonderful shade.
On the day registration is available at Noosa District Sports Complex and a courtesy bus transfer to Pomona is offered as part of the entry fee.
With an afternoon start and the incentive of a cold beer or wine as a reward for effort, we anticipate this also to be a popular and enjoyable event for runners of all types on the Noosa Ultra-Trail schedule !
