30KM RUN / 352m vert / afternoon start

//Race Details

Entries for 2024 Noosa Ultra-Trail will open 1 September 2023

The Pomona Sundowner 30km or ‘beer run’ as some would call it is a point to point trail run from Stan Topper Park, Pomona to Noosa District Sports Complex.

This is the ‘black sheep’ of the Noosa Ultra-Trail events as it is an afternoon start from the Hinterland town of Pomona. For those with families or school sport in the morning, there’s now no excuse not to have a crack at this run !

Taking in the last 30km of the 80km Hinterland Traverse and 100km Ultra-Trail® courses, runners will head out of town for a kilometre or two before heading into Yurol State Forest.

A large portion of this run is under the canopy of trees along dirt roads, 4WD tracks and trails so it will offer some wonderful shade.

On the day registration is available at Noosa District Sports Complex and a courtesy bus transfer to Pomona is offered as part of the entry fee.

With an afternoon start and the incentive of a cold beer or wine as a reward for effort, we anticipate this also to be a popular and enjoyable event for runners of all types on the Noosa Ultra-Trail schedule !

I love Noosa, it is a beautiful place with a rich history in endurance events. As someone who has seen first hand the growth of trail running, I'm excited to come up to Noosa - so join me at the Noosa Ultra-Trail, a fun and challenging new run festival in the Noosa Hinterland.

As a local I love the diversity of the landscapes and friendliness in the small towns. I’ve been part of the discussions with the community about the Trail Network upgrades and how to make the trails more usable, so it’s great to see a new event like the Noosa Ultra-Trail enticing more people to our patch of paradise.

Living an active lifestyle and enjoying the outdoors is a huge part of my life and incredibly important in order to live well and be healthy!
