The Noosa Ultra-Trail®  has been developed to showcase the beautiful Hinterland region of Noosa by utilising a large section of the existing Noosa Trail Network.

The Noosa Trail Network was developed over 20 years ago and has 8 interconnecting trails of different lengths and degrees of difficultly which form a circular loop from Lake MacDonald in the east to Kin Kin in the north to Cooran and Pomona in the West and then to Cooroy in the southern parts of Noosa Shire.

Since its development the Trail has only been promoted for walking, horse riding and mountain biking. Now we are bringing the sport of Trail Running!

In April 2020 a Masterplan was developed to upgrade many elements of the trail network with a focus on the trails in and around Pomona and the spectacular Mount Coorora.

With the growing popularity of trail running around the globe the opportunity presented itself to develop a Trail Running Festival by using the Noosa Trail Network as the basis of the routes.

Whilst not a mountainous region the area offers a great deal of variety in terrain, flora and fauna and with numerous lookouts the vistas offer a nice respite area for runners whilst taking in the hinterland scenery.

In 2022 the Festival will offer 6 different distance options for runners.

As a local I love the diversity of the landscapes and friendliness in the small towns. I’ve been part of the discussions with the community about the Trail Network upgrades and how to make the trails more usable, so it’s great to see a new event like the Noosa Ultra-Trail® enticing more people to our patch of paradise.

I’m so excited to be teaming up with Noosa Ultra-Trail®, a brand new event coming to my home town in 2022. Living an active lifestyle and enjoying the outdoors is a huge part of my life and incredibly important in order to live well and be healthy! I can’t wait to share yoga and its benefits to the runners participating in the event.
